Saudi Arabia´s tanker is seized by Somali pirates

Somali pirates continue hijacking

In brief: Somali pirates continue hijacking and now there are totally 6 ships and 132 sailors in their captivity.

Somali pirates have seized the Saudi Arabian tanker with the crew of 14 people onboard. According to the words of the official representative of the EU anti-pirate mission John Harbor, the ship has been hijacked on March, 1, in the Gulf of Aden.

The tanker called Al Nisr Al Saudi, however, has no freight onboard. The crew of the tanker is international; its captain is from Greece. The tanker has not been registered in corresponding lists of ships and has been following the route not patrolling by the EU Navy.

Remind that on February, 28, the frigate of NATO Navy sank the mother ship of the pirates but the pirates themselves were evacuated to the shore. In spite of that fact, Somali pirates continue hijacking and now there are totally 6 ships and 132 sailors in their captivity.
