Yesterday the Parliament of Ukraine sacked Tymoshenko's government

In brief: Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko leaves the post to form an opposition.

This Wednesday the Parliament of Ukraine sacked the government of Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko. The vote of censure was supported by 243 deputies and 7 of them were from the Prime Minister’s Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc.

The meeting of Ukrainian Parliament began without Tymoshenko. Mykola Azarov from the Party of regions, who is said to be one of the probable candidates for the Prime Minister’s post, accused Tymoshenko for leading the country into the depths of social and economical crisis. The Prime Minister herself appeared during his speech, greeted by the applause of the deputies from her party.

She spoke for approximately 15 minutes, promising to leave her post immediately if the vote of censure is accepted and to form a strong opposition. Then she left the room without waiting for the vote to begin.
