Greek Ministry of finance is blocked by protesters
Default in Greece turns into revolution
In brief: Employees protest against the program of austerity in order to reduce budget deficit adopted by the Greek parliament. Besides in the centre of Athens several checkpoints are established by the protesters. At least 200 people have today broken through the building of Ministry of finance of Greece and occupied several offices. They are representatives of labour unions cooperating with the Communist party of the country.
Thus employees protest against the program of austerity in order to reduce budget deficit adopted by the Greek parliament. Besides in the centre of Athens several checkpoints are established by the protesters.
Remind that budget deficit of Greece threatens now the entire EU stability. First of all it concerns the value of the common European currency – euro. Thus last week Greek government decided to reduce budget expenses to €4.8 billion. Also Greece is going to apply to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for emergency financial aid if the EU countries do not help Athens to reduce budget deficit.
