First tour of presidential elections in Poland to be held on June 20

Polls show that Mr. Komorowski is likely to win the elections

In brief: The first tour of preterm presidential elections is going to be held on July 20.

According to information published on official website of Polish Seim, the first tour of presidential elections is going to be held on Sunday, 20 June. Polish Seim speaker Bronislaw Komorowski signed respective order this morning.

According to the law, Mr. Komorowski is currently executing the duty of Polish President Lech Kaczynski, who died in a plane crash on April 10. Experts consider that Polish Seim speaker is most likely going to win the first tour of future presidential elections along with the twin brother of Lech Kaczynski, Jaroslaw. Also, the polls show that Mr. Komorowski has the advantage in the second tour, though political scientists specify that the situation with the favorite of the future presidential elections will become clearer after the candidates complete the official registration and start the electioneering.
