Australian government has found the way to fight tobacco addiction

The cigarettes' packages will not differ

In brief: The Prime-minister of Australia Kevin Rudd is previously ready to the discontent of tobacco producers.

Australian authorities make producers of tobacco sale cigarettes in absolutely identical packages independently of the trademark, without any logo. Besides, the excise taxes for tobacco production will become higher up to 25%.

Corresponding laws will come into force in January, 2012. They are to obey the recommendations of the World Health Organization in order to reduce tobacco addiction. Since 2012 all cigarettes will have to be sold in absolutely identical packages without any company’s logo or motto. Thus the authorities intend to struggle for the health of nation.

The Prime-minister of Australia Kevin Rudd is previously ready to the discontent of tobacco producers. Meantime one of the leaders of tobacco industry, “Imperial Tobacco Australia”, is going to struggle against such initiative of the government.
