Muslims in Europe: Belgium bans Islamic veil

Belgian government will punish criminally for wearing Muslim veil

In brief: In order to save and keep European traditions, Europeans have to fight legally with Muslims.

Lower Chamber of Belgian parliament has approved the ban to wear Islamic veil (paranja, nikab etc.) in public places. The ban was voted by majority vote – 136. The next step is adoption of the law by senators.

The ban concerns all types of Islamic veil, which don’t allow identifying person, in all public places such as streets, schools, restaurants, gyms all over the territory of the kingdom. Violation of the law is criminally punished by penalty of 25 euro or 7-day long imprisoning. Muslim woman have a right to wear paranja only for some festivals if however local authorities give such permission

Such laws have become a necessity due to some mullahs’ calls to provide in Europe Muslim laws of Shariah. In order to save and keep European traditions, Europeans have to fight legally with Muslims. Belgium is going to be the first to succeed in prohibiting wearing Muslim veil. Also France is working on such law which is planned to be voted just in May.

Some steps to the same direction have made other European countries. Thus, in November last year Switzerland tried to ban building minarets, Germany and the Netherlands adopted the ban on wearing shawls by Muslim girls in schools. Also such tries are being made in Austria and Denmark.
