Ukraine will trade with Russia

In brief: Ukraine has made the first and decisive step towards economic cooperation with Russia.

Ukraine intends to establish with Russia a free trade zone by the rules of the World Trade Organization (WTO). , Said Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Konstantin Gryshchenko. “The priority is the economy, projects that provide economic growth and the impact on the welfare of our citizens,” – said the official.

According to the Foreign Ministry, the Ukrainian government counts on cooperation with Russia in upgrading the transmission system, in space, missile and aircraft industry, nuclear industry, shipbuilding, and transportation projects. At the same time K. Grishchenko did not comment on the Polish journalist remark that some reviewers seem that Ukraine is a significant concessions to Russia, saying only that authorities in both countries have to solve “the most serious problems.” The Minister noted that Ukraine intends to carry the same pragmatic foreign policy – as with Russia and the United States and the European Union. “We want to deepen relations with our traditional partners and seek new ones. Thanks to this our foreign policy will be more pragmatic and realistic”, – said the Minister. It should be recalled, that Ukraine is also negotiating with the EU to establish a free trade zone.
