Bharti now owns African cellular business

India coveres African cellular space

In brief: In result of the deal Bharti has bought Zain business in 15 African countries.

Bharti Airtel has absorbed African actives of Kuwait company Zain. In result of the deal on $9 billions Indian company has become the fifth cellular operator in the world by the number of users.

In result of the deal Bharti has bought Zain business in 15 African countries. At all, Indian cellular company has now more than 180 millions users in 18 states of Asia and Africa. Only in Africa there are more than 42 millions clients of Bharti. The head of Indian cellular giant Sunil Mittal is sure that this deal will provide the development of economic and social relations between India and Africa.
