In brief: Chicago PMI reports about the fall of the US business activity index. It fell to 59.1 points this June. Dow Jones Industrial Average is in the negative zone.

Dow Jones Industrial Average began to decline against the bad statistics. The level of support for the Dow index is falling by the minute. The US business activity index, which is calculated by Chicago Project Management Institute, fell to 59.1 points to 59.7 points this June according to the report published by the association today.

Analytics predicted this index to be 59 points for the reporting period. This index is calculated according to the result of a survey held among the chief buyers in the industrial field in Chicago. The index affects the state of production orders, the prices of their products and inventory in warehouses. The index value of 45-50 points or below is considered an indicator of a slowing economy, higher than 50 points – an indicator of growth. The index reflects the level of business activity in the Midwest of the US.
