Gasp in Kiev and breathe in Copenhagen

In brief: The Economist Intelligence Unit center introduced the rating of 30 most environmentally polluted cities.

The Economist Intelligence Unit center introduced the rating of 30 most environmentally polluted cities. The ratings were set according to the level of carbon (due to traffic jams and industry), use of energy, transport, quality of water and air, waste recycling and ecological politics.

The most clean environment is traditionally in Nordic countries. Thus the first two positions were given to Copenhagen and Stockholm. Vienna is the third followed by Amsterdam at the forth place.

The worst indices are in East Europe countries. Here the politics of ecology is not popular along with wasting energy.

Thus the capital of Ukraine is the last in the list of the most polluted cities. Kiev is in the 30th position. Besides high level of carbon, permanent wasting energy and polluted water and air in Kiev there have been cut down about 600 hectares of greenery.
