Marlin Equity Partners is to purchase Phoenix Technologies for $ 135.1 million

Major high-tech companies gain in value. Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ: MSFT) shares rose to 24.75 points, gaining +0.04 (0.16%). International Business Machines Corp. (NYSE: IBM) holds the auction at the uptick of 128.83 points, gaining +0.38 (0.30%).

The Dow Jones Industrial Average is at – 10,388.37 points, losing -17.48 (-0.17%). At the same time, the Phoenix Technologies software producer agreed to Marlin Equity Partners’ takeover estimated at $ 135.1 million. Marlin is to bid $ 3.85 per Phoenix share. The transaction is set for the closing quarter of 2010. Bulls hope for new record highs today, – the Open Knowledge experts say.
