Presidential elections in Ukraine: first tour came to an end

Victor Yanukovich leads the elections

In brief: Central election committee processed 100 percent of the protocols.

Calculation of votes in the first part of presidential elections came to an end. According to the last statistics from Central election committee, 100 percent of the protocols have been processed.

This statistics show that leader of the “Party of the regions” Victor Yanukovich leads the elections with 35.32 percent of the votes. The Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko is on second place with 25.05 percent of the votes. They both set out for the second tour of presidential elections, which is going to take place on February, 7.

Former head of the National Bank Serhiy Tyhypko scored third with 13.06 percent of the votes. This result is said to be significant, considering this is the first time Mr.Tyhypko participates in presidential elections.
