Somalia pirates now act on coast

Somalia pirates seized UN trucks

In brief: Pirates from Puntland captured nine persons and brought them to their staff in Garaada.

Somalia pirates now act not only in the sea but also on the coast. On Thursday February, 25, they seized five trucks of the UN World Food Program. The convoy of cars was going from Galkayo to Berbera.

Galkayo is town in self-proclaimed state Puntland while Berbera is the main port in other self-proclaimed state Somaliland. Pirates from Puntland captured nine persons and brought them to their staff in Garaada. They only claim to release their accomplices arrested in Somaliland in exchange to these hostages.
