German parliament voted for increasing Bundeswehr contingent in Afghanistan

Germany will send to Afghanistan 850 soldiers more

In brief: New strategy of Germany in Afghanistan supposes increasing German military forces to 850 persons.

German parliament has today approved by majority vote the plans of increasing Bundeswehr contingent in Afghanistan from 4500 to 5350 persons. 500 soldiers and 350 instructors will be sent to Afghanistan in order to instruct Afghan army.

New strategy of Germany in Afghanistan which supposed increasing German military forces to 850 persons was presented last month. Before active debates in Bundestag occurred on the necessity of increasing military forces in Afghanistan. The representatives of Left party promoting antimilitarism left the parliament while voting process. Later they were allowed to corresponding discussion.
