The US soldier has been killed and two Italian soldiers have been wounded during the conflict on the Afghanistan military base. The Afghan soldier, who is said to open the fire on them, is also wounded by the returned fire of the NATO troops and is currently at the hospital.

The US magazine Newsweek has dropped into the future and predicted possible events in international relations going to occur in 2010. The forecast is anything but optimistic: expected revolutions in Pakistan and Venezuela, crisis in China and Europe, the collapse of Pound and prosperity of Brazil.

This evening the Secretary General of NATO Anders Fogh Rasmussen will come to Moscow. His visit is to be 2 day long lasting and is supposed to include meetings with the President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev, the Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, the Head of Parliament Boris Gryzlov and the Head of Ministry of Interior Sergey Lavrov.

The Nobel Institute awarded the US President Barack Obama the prize of $1.4 million check, a gold medal and a diploma. The decision to award Obama was adopted after the US President pledged to start withdrawing troops from Afghanistan after 18 months.

President Obama announced his plan to send 30000 more forces to Afghanistan and to start the troop reductions on July 2011. He also asked for military support from the NATO allies, requiring 10000 more forces.
