Obama, Cameron and oil spill

So now we have a statement of the president Barack Obama. His anger at the situation with BP does not have a nothing personal. Just business. In a conversation held with British Prime Minister, David Cameron, the American president said that his obvious desire to find the one who “Pour on the first number in BP, totally not a manifestation of anti-British sentiments. The president’s words, of course, encouraging. But the situation with BP was a sad reminder that for the widely advertised “special relationship” between the U.S. and Britain hidden mutual hatred, ready to boil over at the first emergency.

FIFA World Cup 2010: results and economic lesson

FIFA World Cup 2010 showed Europe how to live. To live in a big way, western countries only need to sell their precious assets neighbors full purse. I was recently asked about how Spain should respond to the crisis. “Do not bother,” – I replied. “While they were still ahead of Honduras and Chile, we can assume that all is well.” World Cup – an old trick. Only a few countries manage to win. Some may win only when playing on their field (England in 1966, Goad and France in 1998). But someone still play where they won on every (Germany, Argentina and, if we turn to the pre-war history, Italy, Uruguay and). And only one team can not win at home, but it always wins in a foreign field. This done, the Brazilian team.

The scandal around BP embroiled the U.S. and Britain

The fact that representatives of the American administration in the statements of the oil slick using the old name of the oil giant – “British Petroleum” – led to dissatisfaction in the UK.

Volcano in Iceland closes new airports

Volcano is still alive. A new cloud of volcanic ash from Icelandic volcano continues to move towards Europe. Through the southern part of Switzerland it got to the Apennine peninsula. Italian authorities were forced to order the closure of airports in Milan, Pisa and Florence. The government promised to open them today, but everything will depend on how dangerous clouds will be.

BBC reduces its activity

British broadcasting corporation (BBC) is going to reduce half number of pages of its website. Also it intends to close two radio stations. The new strategy of the corporation development is to be published in March.

Explosions in Kabul: Taliban is to blame

Today on February, 26, several explosions have occurred in the capital of Afghanistan Kabul. According to the police data, there are 17 dead and 32 injured, among them are two policemen and several foreigners. The responsibility is on Taliban.

US sends marine forces to Haiti

Yesterday another strong earthquake shook Haiti, causing panic among people. It is considered by experts to be typical aftershock of the first earthquake. Despite such aftershocks might continue, experts say that they will be weaker and are not going to cause serious damage to Haiti.

Yemeni forces have tried to restore international confidence

The UK, France and the US reopened their embassies in Yemen on Tuesday as BBC news informs. Such steps were taken after Yemeni forces had arrested the militants of al-Qaeda on Monday. Mohammed Ahmed al-Hanaq, one of the leaders of al-Qaeda in Yemen, is among the arrested.
