Earthquake in Indonesia: there is no threat of tsunami

The threat of tsunami is cancelled in Indonesia. The alarm was yesterday after the earthquake of 7.4 magnitude occurred near the island of Sumatra. Still there is no data about victims of the disaster. It is, however, known that the earthquake destroyed several houses and electricity connection.

Volcano in Iceland closes new airports

Volcano is still alive. A new cloud of volcanic ash from Icelandic volcano continues to move towards Europe. Through the southern part of Switzerland it got to the Apennine peninsula. Italian authorities were forced to order the closure of airports in Milan, Pisa and Florence. The government promised to open them today, but everything will depend on how dangerous clouds will be.

Powerful earthquake in Indonesia: destruction and danger of tsunami

Along the coast of the Indonesian island of Sumatra massive earthquake measuring 7.4 on the Richter scale. According to the USGS earthquake’s epicenter was located 225 kilometers south of Sumatra. It was announced warnings of a possible tsunami, but after half an hour the threat had passed. As it turned out, in the nearest settlement to the epicenter of wave height was only 20 centimeters.

Volcano in Guatemala has woken up

The volcano Santiagito of 2.5 km high in Guatemala began to erupt yesterday. Ash and sand is being thrown out to the atmosphere and the wind is bringing them to Northern East. The eruption is considered by specialist as incredible and powerful.

Volcano in Iceland ceased, Kamchatka volcano began to rage

Volcano in Iceland is not so active, but… On the Kamchatka volcanoes Kizimen took place earthquake magnitude 4.5 points. Casualties and destruction there. According to the Kamchatka branch of the Geophysical Survey of RAS, the earthquake registered on April 23 at 22:43 local time. The center lies at a depth of about 700 meters. In settlements in Kamchatka tremors were felt not.

Another volcano is awaking in Iceland. New Volcano in Iceland woke up and ready to erupt. Icelandic scientists have concluded that an active volcano can trigger another eruption, dormant for now, the Icelandic volcano Katla. The new eruption is ten times stronger.

Volcano Katla: new danger from Iceland

Volcano in Iceland is more than active. Flying over the North Atlantic and around can be virtually ceased in the coming years, experts predict. And the explosions of the volcano Eyyafyallayekyul in Iceland and clouds of ash – a familiar sight. The volcano woke up quietly over the past ten years. And remind yourself of the tremors. Last earthquake which triggered Eyyafyallayekyul occurred in late May 2008. Thus, for almost a year ago volcano entered the active phase, it blew up on Wednesday, April 14, and is not going to fall asleep again. All seismographic data indicate that in front of us expects a large number of eruptions and earthquakes are very large.

Flights in Europe are delayed due to the cloud of volcanic ash

Cloud of volcanic ash formed due to the eruption in Iceland is covering European countries. It breaks the air communications in Europe. Great Britain, Ireland, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Belgium, Norway and Netherlands have closed all airports. Also some flights to Europe are delayed from Russia, Germany and Baltic countries.
