Specialists of British Petroleum have just started pumping up oil from the Gulf of Mexico. Their engineers have before succeeded in setting the pipeline of 15 cm in diameter and 1.5 km long and joining it with the emergency equipment. Now oil is being pumped up to the tankers.

The struggle against oil leakage, however, does not come to an end at this stage because of another point of oil leaking. It is much smaller than the basic one but oil also comes to the ocean through it. In order to minimize negative consequences to the environment, specialists of BP use chemicals on the bottom of the Gulf. These chemicals are to dissolve oil in water space and thus the concentration of oil will not be so dangerous. The head of BP Corporation Tony Hayward has said that oil leakage in the Gulf of Mexico may be really stopped this week.

The US social organization Matter of Trust has announced the collection of human hair and hair of domestic animals, which is used to make special material in order to absorb the oil, leaking to the Gulf of Mexico. There have already been gathered about 100 kg of hair from several countries including USA, Canada, Germany, Brazil, France and the UK.

Hair has already been tested in similar situation. It was in 2007 in San Francisco, when oil leakage was in result of accident on tanker Cosco Busan. Well, hair perfectly absorbs grease but lets the water flow down through.

Before, the special dome has been made by British Petroleum. It is to be put to the bottom today. The oil is planned to be pumped in the warm water saturated of methanol.

Engineers of “British Petroleum” have just begun building of new dome in order to stop the leakage of oil in the Gulf of Mexico. According to the information, received by Globalist from the representatives of British company, new construction is planned to be made already this week.

Meantime the oil spot has already broken ecological balance in the region: many islands are polluted, animals and birds are dying. The first try of BP specialists to set the dome was failed due to the pollution of the construction. But they still plan to stop 85% of oil leakage, using new construction.

After the explosion on floating platform, occurred last week, in the Gulf of Mexico has fallen a lot of oil. Enormous oil spot has already come close to the US coasts. Now it is almost 12 000 square km and drown platform still continues throw out oil to the ocean. Everyday to the ocean falls about 5 000 barrels of oil.

The US Minister of defense Robert Gates has ordered to organize the flight of two airplanes “Hercules” C-130 which are to throw down to the oil spot the chemicals in order to prevent the pollution.

Fortunately, there was nobody in the destroyed house, thus there are no victims or even injured.

The specialists from Indonesian National Institute of aeronautics and space noted that the meteorite fallen down in Jakarta was little like a football ball. That is why it was almost invisible while closing the Earth. Scientists say that it is quite rare incident because usually such little space objects burn in atmosphere and don’t reach the Earth.

The authorities of the US state Louisiana have declared the emergency. Oil spot appeared in result of accident on floating platform in the Gulf of Mexico and has already reached the mouth of Mississippi river. This ecological disaster is going to become the greatest in country’s history.

The rescuers don’t succeed in stopping spreading oil spot and it is expected that the coast of Louisiana will de covered by the oil just this weekend. In order to minimize its impact to the coastal line, the guardrails are being built in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida. More than 1000 people, 50 ships and a plane take part in the operation. This time they have succeeded in removing about 250 000 gallons of oil. Oil spot spreads to 75 000 km2. The best way to stop it is burning. In result of burning process clots of oil appear in the water which can be removed without any problem. But the weather destroys the work of rescuers.

Now there is a threat to the nature of the Bay: rare types of fish, birds and other inhabitants of the coast may extinct.

British Petroleum is responsible for the compensation for damage and the funding of cleaning operation. The US President Barack Obama also tries to help the rescuers in order to prevent ecological disaster.

Everyday from destroyed pipe in the sea comes out about 200 tons of oil. The US coastguard burned the spot of oil in order to prevent contamination of the coast. Now the oil spot is coming close to the delta of Mississippi river. There is no success in stopping leakage of oil from floating oil platform. The works are being provided on 1.5 km deep in the sea.

Specialists from British meteorological service have brought the good news: the volcano Eyjafjallajökull in Iceland, which have caused the greatest aviation crisis in the world, is losing its power. It has almost stopped erupting just continues throwing out ash.

But Europe is still captured by the cloud of volcanic ash from Iceland which goes on spreading. Scientists predict that Europe will remain a captive of volcanic ash for at least to the end of this week.

However every cloud has a silver lining. Due to the great aviation crisis while millions of flights have been cancelled, the emissions of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere has been reduced to 1.3 million tons. Thus the Earth has cleaned its atmosphere by making people stop their destroying activity.

Cloud of volcanic ash formed due to the eruption in Iceland is covering European countries. It breaks the air communications in Europe. Great Britain, Ireland, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Belgium, Norway and Netherlands have closed all airports. Also some flights to Europe are delayed from Russia, Germany and Baltic countries.

This cloud is not dangerous for people. It is in high layers of atmosphere and its particles of ash are able to disrupt aircraft engines. The cloud is going slowly and in close time can reach the air territories of Baltic countries and North of Poland.

The Volcano Eyjafjallajökull had been sleeping for almost 200 years. Its first eruption this year was on March, 20, then it repeated on April, 14.
