Today all trade ports of Finland are paralyzed due to the strike of dockers. The strike has been started at 6:00 a.m. (local time) and has been continuing.


Lufthansa restored flights schedule

Lufthansa has today completely restored flights schedule after suspended one-day strike of pilots. Now all 1800 flights are being executed. Delays to half an hour only happen in Frankfurt airport. They are all caused by difficult weather conditions.

Has General Motors gone?

It is very difficult to manage such a large corporation in such difficult times. Now it is a problem to sale the production but workers must be paid. The only decision was made by Nick Reilly, the Head of European business of General Motors. He has informed today that GM will reduce 95000 workers of Opel plants in Europe.


Recession for progression

Recent reports in the U.S. and Europe frustrated but not finished. For example, Obama hadn’t disappointed at all. Manufacturing, once the backbone of the economy, has taken a big hit in the current recession, and small and medium-sized enterprises often bear the brunt of the downturn.
Last year 19,000 jobs were lost in manufacturing in Ireland. From January to May this year, more than 7,700 manufacturing jobs were lost – up 139% on the same period last year. It’s just one of the examples… Is it rececssion for progression?
