Coalition government of Great Britain has today adopted common program. New authorities support military operation in Afghanistan and close cooperation with the USA concerning Middle East. Thus, political parties have regulated problems concerning which they had opposite positions.

Political program of new government is about supporting initiative of taking new members to the Security Council of the UN (it concerns representatives of Japan, India, Germany, Brazil and several African countries), reconsideration of treaty on extradition between the USA and Great Britain (which now goes against Britain’s interests) and preparing the plan of becoming a member of Eurozone. Besides, the government tends to support common efforts of the world community concerning the nuclear problem of Iran. Also the cooperation with India and China is to be renewed.

But the main problem of new government to decide is reducing budget deficit of the country which is now about 163 billions pounds. The plan of reducing budget deficit is to be presented next week by the minister of finances George Osborne. As far as EU financial aid to Greece concerned, official London refuses supporting it.

The USA has sent to the Security Council of the UN a project of the resolution on expanding sanctions against Iran. The measures proposed are to destabilize Iranian bank sector and other spheres of economy due to its refusal to stop uranium enrichment. The project is reconciled by the USA, Great Britain, France, Germany, China and Russia after long-lasting negotiations.

According to this resolution, it will be prohibited for Iran to make foreign investments in a row of strategic spheres. The inspection of Iranian trade ships will be allowed in the open sea and ports. Iranian bank operations will be strictly controlled and limited if need. It will be prohibited to open new foreign offices of Iranian banks if there are suspicions of their concerning to Iranian nuclear program.

The US representative Susan Rice has explained that tightening of sanctions against Iran is necessary in order to make Iranian authorities open the nuclear program to the world community. Unfortunately, previous sanctions were ignored by most trade partners of Iran. Russia, in its turn, considers the project of resolution to be balanced because it was discussed basically. However, such sanctions may not be accepted by Brazil and Turkey, who are inconstant members of Security Council of the UN. The matter is, these countries have concluded treatment with Iran on export some nuclear fuel.

After the crushing failure of the Labour Party in elections to the British Parliament, the new party leader could be David Miliband – Minister of Foreign Affairs in the government of Gordon Brown. In this most experts agree, the views are published today in the British press.

Brown has already said that he would resign as party leader. According to policy, he is not going to stay in office longer than necessary to ensure that the country is back on the path of economic growth and rapid progress of political reform. It is expected that Brown would resign before the autumn. However, he did not name the name of a possible successor and said he was not going to support anyone.

The British media have noted that this step Brown is a sort of “foul last resort” in an effort to involve coalition of Liberals and Democrats. Brown takes to win over the Liberal Democrats, called the article on the front page of the business Financial Times, Guardian and chose the title “Brown played the last card.” This statement calls the Guardian Brown resignation from the post of leader of the Labour Party “a dramatic attempt to” hold on to power in coalition with the Liberal Democrats. But to achieve a majority in parliament to the Union Labour and Liberal Democrats will have to join another, and several smaller parties – including the Greens, as well as Scottish and Welsh nationalists.

44-lenny Miliband, who has a light hand of Alastair Campbell, the chief political consultant Tony Blair’s political circles in Britain nicknamed “Brains”, is since 2001 a member of the House of Commons, and in June 2007 by the Minister for Foreign Affairs of the United Kingdom. His father was a famous Marxist theoretician, born in Brussels in a family of Jewish refugees from Poland and emigrated to Britain in 1940 during the occupation of Germany, the Benelux countries. My brother – Ed Miliband – British Minister of Energy and Climate Change in the office of Brown. Miliband graduated from the department of philosophy, politics and economics at Oxford University in 1990, graduated from Department of Political Science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge.

Great Britain is suffering political crisis while forming new government. Conservative party tries to receive a support of Liberal democrats in order to form the government of minority.

Meantime, the Prime-minister Gordon brown also holds negotiations with the leader of Liberal democrats.
Thus, the UK is now in the middle of “political trades”. Specialists, however, predict that there are a few chances of having the government formed until Monday, May, 10.

Governmental elections, held in Britain last Thursday, lead to the expected result: no party got the mandate enough to rein the UK and to form the majority in government. The winner – Conservative party got 306 seats in the House of Commons. In order to form the government of majority, however, it is in need of 20 mandates more. Labour party is the second one with 258 mandates, Liberal democrats got 57 seats and the rest of 28 mandates belong to independent deputies.

Parliamentary Assembly of Council of Europe (PACE) by majority vote has officially adopted to stop any political contacts with Belorussia. The resolution says that Belorussia doesn’t shows enough progress in order to correspond the standards of Council of Europe.

As an example, the Council of Europe tells about recent death penalty of belorussian citizens Andrey Zhuk and Vasily Yuzepchuk for murders. The sentence was executed in March this year secretly and relatives were informed only several days later. Besides, there were complaints of the executed people under consideration in the UN Committee for Human Rights. Also PACE notes violations of rights of Polish minority in Belorussia.

Belorussia is still remaining the only country in Europe where death penalty is legalized. The international organization Amnesty International has before called Belorussian authorities to impose a moratorium for death penalty.

British Prime-minister Gordon Brown disgraced on the eve of elections. That incident may impact his election campaign and his career in British government. Meantime the name of ordinary British woman Gillian Duffy has become famous all over the UK.

The incident occurred during his pre-election trip to Manchester suburbs. While conversation with the citizens Gordon Brown had the microphone set on the lapel of his jacket. The pensioner Gillian Duffy was the last the Prime-minister had conversation with. She asked Gordon Brown a lot of questions concerning educational, financial and immigration problems which the Prime-minister had already discussed many times during his election campaign. After long conversation Gordon Brown sat in his car and abused the woman while the microphone was still working.

The journalists at once showed that record to Gillian Duffy who was offended by Prime-minister’s words that he called her “narrow-minded”. The woman said she would never vote for him any more.

The Prime-minister, however, made a noble act. He apologized publicly and privately. But still there is no information about woman’s reaction to his regrets.
