Karstadt will be bought by Russian investors

A group of Russian investors led by St Petersburg businessman Arthur Pakhomov did Germany’s retail chain Karstadt offer to purchase 100% of its shares. According to the newspaper, investors offer to pay for the retailer double-digit amount in millions of euro, to finance the work of the shops in the pre-Christmas season of 2010, as well as to invest around 80 million euros a year to ensure its long-term prospects in the market and expansion abroad.

Haiti suffers the results of the earthquake

Disastrous earthquake shook Haiti this Tuesday, leaving its capital Port-au-Prince seriously wrecked. Houses, schools and hospitals are ruined along with the President’s Palace and his residence. The number of dead is feared to be over tens of thousands of people, the number of injured is currently impossible to count.

Iran threatens world security

The European Parliament delegation has had to arrive to the capital of Iran this week. But the visit has been postponed today to another date now being defined by the Iranian parliament. The cause of postponing the visit is still undetermined but Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman is said to tell about Tehran’s doing its best to provide the effective cooperation with the EU authorities.
