BP plc (NYSE: BP) shares totaled 41.33 points, rising to +0.65 points, or 1.60%. The British company British Petroleum agreed to sell its assets in Colombia, which will allow it to receive 1.9 billion dollars needed to pay off the victims as a result of oil spills in the Gulf of Mexico.

Saudi Arabia ceases to develop crude oil fields

World’s largest exporter of crude oil, Saudi Arabia announced that it stopped all development of new oil fields. Such an order given by King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud at the meeting of the Cabinet. Monarch explained his decision to the need to preserve oil for future generations of residents of the kingdom.

Exxon Mobil extends its business

Exxon Mobil has negotiations with state oil companies of China on organizing joint venture. The cooperation is to cover fields of China as well as those out of the country. According to the vice-president of Exxon Mobil Mark Albers, the company tends to extend its production possibilities in oil sphere in China.
