British Airways cancel flights due to strike

Another series of strikes is made in British Airways

In brief: British Airways may stop its work for a record period of time, we are waiting 20 days without air travel.

British Airways cabin crew are going to spend twenty strike, seeking better working conditions and higher wages. This decision was voted members of the union Unite. The first strike will start on 18 May and will last until May 22. The next protest is scheduled to conduct 24 – May 28 May 30 – June 3 and 5 – 9 June.

Labor dispute between the administration of the airline and trade unions arose because of differences over the management of British Airways plans to reduce carrier loss due to reduction of the wage fund attendants. The union agreed with the general concept of this plan, but demanded to mitigate the planned cost-saving measures.

In March, British Airways flight attendants have already held two strikes, which lasted a total of seven days and cost the airline’s losses in more than $ 60 million. The new administration’s proposal to resolve the conflict have been rejected by the majority members of the trade unions last week.

“We flight attendants had no choice but to resort to the next rally,” – stated the general secretary of trade union Unite Derek Simpson and Tony Woodley.
