Experts from the US, South Korea, Great Britain, Australia and Sweden came to this conclusion after the identification of torpedo’s fragments found on the seabed near the sunk ship. These fragments were considered to be identical to the ones of North Korean torpedo that South Korea obtained 7 years ago.
The North Korean government has stated before that the republic wasn’t related to the warship sinking though the experts’ conclusion now states the opposite. After the announcement of such conclusion the South Korean President Lee Myung-bak said that republic’s officials now are obliged to take strict measures against North Korea because of the warship attack.
