“Twilight Saga: New Moon” faces an opponent
To the surprise of many, “The Blind Side” topped America box office
In brief: “The Blind Side” overcomes “New Moon” according to the Sunday box office reportIn its third week in theatres football drama “The Blind Side” surpassed Stephenie Meyer’s child “Twilight Saga: New Moon” with nearly $20 million in ticket sales over the weekend.
Jeff Goldstein of Warner Bros. says that the studio released “The Blind Side” at the same time as “New Moon” to give alternative to the audience, not interested in teen vampire romance. But it seems that this drama, starring Sandra Bullock, caught the attention of people of all age. Directed by John Lee Hancock, “The Blind Side” tells a story of Michael Oher, a homeless teen adopted by a wealthy couple, who becomes a tackle for the Baltimore Ravens.
But “New Moon” is still far ahead with the domestic total of $255.6, compared to $129.3 million to “The Blind Side”.
