Conference Board released a report stating that the index of consumer confidence in the country in July 2010. decreased compared to the previous month at 3.9 points and totaled 50.4 points, which did not meet analysts’ forecasts.

Australia’s Newcrest Mining Ltd has increased production of gold up to the last fiscal year by 8% – up to 1.762 million ounces, the growth rate in the IV quarter was 26%. This is stated in the message of the mining enterprise.

Forecast for gold prices – the precious metal will continue to go up because of problems in the stock markets. Quotes for gold closed with an increase in the price of the background leaving investors in the asset-seekers in response to concerns about the pace of recovery of the world economy. As a result of trading on the COMEX, division of the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX), quotes gold futures rose 3.50, or 0.3%, to 1245.90 dollars per troy ounce, quotes, silver futures rose 7 cents, or 0.2%, to 18.71 dollars per ounce. The price of gold on the spot market in the U.S. amounted to U.S. $ 1244.90 per troy ounce (+4.50 USD).

U.S. stock market – the indices continue to decline, Dow Jones Industrial trying to avoid another fiasco in the background of mixed statistics. Index broad market Standard & Poor’s 500 is trading with a decrease at 0.59% on a mark to 1,088.83 points, the light blue-chip Dow Jones Industrial Average decreased 0.29% to a level of 10,262.97 points and the index of high-tech Nasdaq Composite traded in a minus on 0,56% at around 2,249.04 points.

Dow Jones Industrial Average started the new marathon of growth thanks to the positive statistics and the uncertain action bears. Stock trades in the U.S. opened on June 2 after the rise of the leading indicators of sales in the previous session. At the time the Dow Jones index rose by +117.67 (1.17%) – up to 10,141.69 points, the index S & P – on 6.92 points (0.65%) to 1,077.63 points, the index of Nasdaq – by 13.22 points ( 0.59%) and amounted to 2,235.55 points. Positive effect on market participants now have a statement of central banks of Brazil, India, South Korea and Japan that financial institutions do not intend to abandon the euro in its reserves management strategies, despite European debt crisis.

At the opening of stock trading in the U.S. 12 May 2010. expected to increase leading indexes. This is evidenced by the dynamics of futures on U.S. stock indicators. Ahead of the opening bell, Dow Jones industrial average futures rose 29, or 0.3 percent, to 10,738. Standard & Poor’s 500 index futures rose 4.90, or 0.4 percent, to 1,157.10, while Nasdaq 100 index futures rose 9.75, or 0.5 percent, to 1,945.00. At this point in time quotations of futures for the Dow Jones index rose by 37 points (0.35%), the index S & P – at 5.3 points (0.46%), the index of Nasdaq – on 4.75 points (+ 0,25%).
