The professor of economics at New York University’s Stern School of Business Nouriel Roubini believes that in the third quarter U.S. GDP growth won’t exceed 1%. The economist evaluates the chances of a repeated recession at 40%. One can hardly question Roubini’s estimates, but how could they help to make money with such forecasts?

BP plc is close to 38.11 points, gaining -0.29 (-0.76%) in the middle of the today’s trading as oil prices go down. At the same time, the surge in metal prices was a boon for Macmahon Holdings.

Oil prices are rising today. DJIA climbs higher. Exxon Mobil Corporation (NYSE: XOM) shares rose to 60.80, gaining +1.54% owing to a rise in oil prices. Chevron Corporation (NYSE: CVX) approached to 77.73 points, gaining +0.74 (0.96%).

Oil prices rise sharply today. Oil has risen to $ 81.38 a barrel on the background of the rally in global stock markets, which supports the optimism about the recovery of demand. The price of September futures contracts on petroleum of mark WTI in electronic trading of the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) rose in the morning compared to August 2 at $ 0,04 (0,05%), to $ 81.38 per barrel.

Oil prices are trying to break up after a failed attempt to climb yesterday. Since the beginning of the current day prices for petroleum futures Brent and Light Sweet have risen by about 0,5%. Factors to the rise in oil prices has a long list, but the players of the oil market appears nowhere in no hurry to pending publication of the official report of the U.S. Department of Energy, which will be released tomorrow.

Oil prices continued mixed dynamics today. Friday’s collapse has been changed for the oil price climbing today. However, oil prices this afternoon, traded on the positive territory, fell again – down from the beginning of the day by 0,7%.
