President Obama signed into law the most radical since the Great Depression of the 1930 reform of the mechanisms regulating the U.S. financial system. The main purpose of the law is to prevent the recurrence of financial crisis in the U.S. two years ago and then engulfed the entire world. “Legislation on the reform of financial regulation is a necessary and far-reaching step towards preventing the recurrence of the recent financial crisis,” – said on the eve of the signing of the law Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke.

Every working day at 11.00 AM New York time, begins a strange and incomprehensible ritual. On the screens appear Reuters information on the official “market average” value of dollar swaps. Changes in prices for dollar swaps – in fact, derivative instruments tied to yields on government bonds – determines not only the situation on Wall Street.

Many years ago … Amid ongoing concerns over a dozen years of growth preceding the crisis, seem to be those responsible for making monetary decisions a paradise on earth. Then they almost nowhere to be mistaken. They were walking on the heels of such giants as Paul Volcker, who in the 80′s. successfully defeated the Great Inflation by restrictive monetary policy and restore confidence to the central bank.
